I would probably be branded a nerd-for-life, for creating this post, but hack what the hell right.
Ever since I first started to watch Star Wars when I was a kid, I had wanted a light saber, thought the desire for it has weaken with me growing up, there is always this temptation, "to get one for yer self" feeling, whenever you walk pass toy-r-us shelves that have them on display. A light saber is right up there, next to a Dai-katana, when it comes to big boy's toys for me.
Anyway if ya got the time why not make one for your self. The plans, especially the one used by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi is very simple to make. I can bet ya, any college student with a bit of experience with the lathe machine can make one for you in a week. Anyway, you can access this site for the plans:

I just "like" crossing the roads in Suzhou. You just don't know when you be joinning the long statistics of the road accidents that happens here. And man, what an adrenaline rush. Just this Sunday, after doing my Sunday marketing at Carrefour, yes, yes, they have Carrefour in China now, I was standing right on the edge of the road, in front of a divider when a bus pulled in right in front of me. I didn't even notice the bus, until I could see the side wall of the bus.
There are bicycle lanes here in Suzhou. You have to cross the bicycle lane before you cross the main road meant for cars and then another bicycle lane meant for bicycles travelling in the opposite direction. Though the bicycles here are much smaller than cars, they are as notorious.
The good thing about the bicycles here is that a lot of them are "hybrids". They have a dynamo and electric motor mounted on their bike. The dynamo stores energy in a battery when the cyclist is pedalling, and the motor uses this energy to rotate the wheels when the cyclist is not pedalling and damn are these babies cheap. Am so tempted to ship one back to Malaysia and uses it to cycle to work.
